SUSTAINABILITY

Protecting the future of the Oceans and the marine ecosystem is the foundation of our entire seafood program. IRP Meat & Seafood Co. works closely with the following leading global sustainability organizations.
Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) and the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC)

IRP Meat & Seafood Co. holds a Certificate of Conformity Chain of Custody from the Marine Stewardship Council certifying that we meet the MSC Chain of Custody Standard for ASC certified aquaculture products. The Chain of Custody Standard ensures traceability to the original source. Strict audits are conducted to insure that the chain of custody is not broken from the source to the end consumer.

Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) and the Global Aquaculture Alliance (GAA)

We search out and work with Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) certified fisheries to provide our customers with healthy, wholesome seafood. BAP is the world’s most trusted, comprehensive, and proven third-party aquaculture certification program. BAP has been improving the environmental, social, and economic performance of the aquaculture supply chain and growing the global supply of responsibly farmed seafood since 2002. BAP certification is administered by the Global Aquaculture Alliance (GAA), a nonprofit organization dedicated to advocacy, education, and leadership in responsible aquaculture.
